Wembanyama tweaks back
Victor Wembanyama shot 9-of-16 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line in Sunday’s 121-116 win over New Orleans, scoring 25 points with 10 rebounds, one assist, three blocks, and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes. Wembanyama was back in the lineup after a two-game absence, and his night nearly ended prematurely. He appeared to tweak his back on a full early in the first quarter, but the Spurs phenom was back on the floor after a short stint in the locker room. San Antonio plays two games to end Week 7 (Friday and Sunday), and the time off should help Wembanyama as he continues to work his way back from injury.
Ayton questionable to play due to illness
Deandre Ayton (illness) is questionable to play against San Antonio on Friday. Both Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams practiced fully on Thursday and are now questionable to play in this game. With all three center options questionable, the rotation will depend entirely on who is available. Ayton should be the starter if he’s healthy, with Clingan next in line.
