Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Trail Blazers are 5-point favorites to beat the Grizzlies. The total, meanwhile, sits at 215.5 points and as of this writing, 68% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Trail Blazers to cover the point spread.
Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin
C.J. McCollum couldn’t get his shot to drop on Sunday, going 2-of-13 from the field on his way to six points, two 3-pointers, two rebounds, six assists, one block and three turnovers. McCollum faced some tough defense from Charlotte, but he also missed a lot of shots that he typically makes, so perhaps the early start time affected his play a bit. This was just the third time this season that McCollum had been confined to single figures in the scoring department (the last time this happened was in January), but we’d expect a major bounce-back performance on Tuesday with a matchup against Memphis.
Memphis Grizzlies Fantasy Spin
Avery Bradley, battling through a sore knee and wrist, hit 11-of-19 shots, two 3-pointers and 3-of-3 free throws for 27 points, five rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 35 minutes of Sunday’s loss to the Thunder. Bradley has found new life in Memphis and is finally returning to the form he showed a few years ago in Boston. He’s been rocking over his last four games, averaging 20 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.8 3-pointers, and now looks like a must-own player. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies only play three times in the upcoming week.
NBA Betting Trends
Portland
The Trail Blazers are 19-7 against the spread in their last 26 games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous contest.
Memphis
The Grizzlies are 4-1 against the number in their last five home games when facing an opponent with a losing road record.
Prediction
The Trail Blazers are hot, winners of four of their last five, seven of their last 10 and five straight against the spread. That said, the Grizzlies have been highly competitive recently, even with the losses continuing to pile up. After nearly upsetting the Thunder as 9-point road underdogs on Sunday night, the Grizzlies are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against the rest of the Western Conference and are 6-2 against the number in their last eight home games. This is the end of Portland’s seven-game road trip and is a natural letdown spot with a home date against the Thunder coming up in two nights.
