Pistons vs. Cavs Prediction
One day after throttling the Thunder in OKC, the Cavaliers return home to take on a Pistons team that lost outright as a home favorite to the Pelicans.
Detroit will visit Cleveland tonight at 7:00PM ET and according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cavs are a 10-point home favorite. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 207 points for this Eastern Conference matchup. (Compare point spreads and totals for all games tonight at our NBA Odds Page.)
The Pistons are in a massive funk, losing eight of their last 10 games and failing to cover the spread in eight of their last 10 as well. They’re 11-18 against the spread on the road this season and just 27-28 ATS overall.
As for the Cavs, they’re 8-2 straight up and 5-4-1 against the spread over that same span. They’re 13-14 against the number as a home team this season and 24-27 at the betting window overall.

Prediction
The Pistons haven’t covered a spread in five consecutive games but the price on the Cavs is still a little inflated. Bettors were either burned by Cleveland on Sunday in OKC or will look to capitalize on the moment of the Cavs covering easily, so oddsmakers have set the line high for tonight’s game at Quicken Loans Arena.
LeBron and Co. are 5-4-1 against the spread playing on back-to-back nights but when you dive deeper, you’ll see that they won by an average margin of just 4.7 points in those 10 games. As for the Pistons, they’re 5-5-1 against the number playing on no rest, losing those games by an average margin of just 2.8 points.
The Pistons are also 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games in Cleveland so at least bettors know that Detroit has played the Cavs tough in the past. Fatigue could be an issue for both teams so there’s at least some value in taking the dog.
