Brooklyn is the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference after going 38-44 on the season. The Nets were 19-22 at home and 19-22 on the road while going 24-28 in conference play. Atlanta will have the home-court advantage in this series.
According to the oddsmakers at online sports book Bovada.lv, the Hawks are the favorite to win this series, as they are getting odds of -1200 to prevail, while the Nets are getting a money line of +750 to win. Game 1 of the series will be held on Sunday at 5:30PM ET.
These two teams met four times during the season and Atlanta swept all four games, winning three of them by double figures. The Hawks also covered the spread in three of the four wins. Atlanta has now won five straight meetings with Brooklyn. When it comes to the over/under, these two have hit the over in three straight contests.
