Bucks trade for Jason Kidd
MILWAUKEE, WI (TheSpread) – After a bizarre few days, the Milwaukee Bucks have a new coach, and it is Jason Kidd.
News came out this weekend that Kidd was looking for a promotion with the Nets after one season as coach, in hopes of having more control over player personnel decisions. When the Nets didn’t oblige, the wheels were set in motion for a change.
According to ESPN, the Milwaukee Bucks came into the picture as co-owner Marc Lasry has a past relationship with Kidd. ESPN has indicated that the Bucks are sending a second round pick in the 2015 and 2019 NBA Drafts to the Nets for the rights to make Kidd their head coach, which led to the dismissal of Larry Drew as the coach at Milwaukee.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Milwaukee comes into next season with 300/1 odds to win the NBA title, which are the second-longest odds of any team in the NBA. Oddsmakers see Miami as the favorite to win it all with 7/2 odds, while San Antonio has 6/1 odds to repeat.
