Luka Doncic played 43 minutes in Saturday’s 105-100 loss to the Raptors, scoring 24 points (8-of-15 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs) with seven rebounds, eight assists, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers. One game removed from scoring 42 points in a loss to the Celtics, Doncic matched his season-low with 15 shot attempts Saturday night. Toronto gave the unenviable task of defending the star guard to O.G. Anunoby, and along with some timely double-teams, the Raptors were able to get the ball out of Doncic’s hands in certain spots. And it’s difficult to win when there aren’t many players stepping up to make the most of the opportunities sent their way. Spencer Dinwiddie (15/2/7 with three 3-pointers) shot the ball well, and Dorian Finney-Smith (16/4/2/2/1 with three 3-pointers) was the other starter in double figures. Life won’t get any easier for Doncic, as he and his teammates will face the Bucks Sunday night in Milwaukee.

Giannis Antetokounmpo shot 13-of-20 from the field and 10-of-14 from the foul line in Friday’s 117-105 win over the Cavaliers, accounting for 38 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes. After a three-game stretch in which he shot a combined 13-of-38 from the foul line, Antetokounmpo has begun turning things around. After making six of his nine attempts in Wednesday’s loss to the Bulls, he was even better Friday night. Giannis can get any shot he wants within the Bucks’ offense, but teams will give the foul instead of letting him drive to the basket. Making opponents pay for that approach will go a long way toward getting Antetokounmpo’s fantasy value to where it’s expected. What also helps is having teammates who can consistently hit open shots, as Jevon Carter (18/3/2/2 with five 3-pointers) and Bobby Portis (14/8/4/0/1 with two 3-pointers) did against the Cavs. Carter shot 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, while Portis made two of his three attempts.
