Defense to be on display in L.A. on Saturday
In what should be a low-scoring game for bettors, the Clippers will host the Hawks at 10:30PM ET tonight.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Los Angeles is now a 5.5-point favorite versus Atlanta after opening as a 5-point fave. As for the total, the number opened at 204.5 but has dropped a full four points down to 200.5. The Hawks enter play with a 34-28 record and are 31-30 against the spread, while the Clippers are 40-20 straight up and 30-27 at the betting window.
The under is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Los Angeles and is 6-0 in the Clippers’ last six home games.
The under has also cashed in six of Los Angeles’ last seven games overall and is 8-2 in the team’s last 10 games versus Eastern Conference opponents.

On the other side, the under is 4-1 in the Hawks’ last five games overall and is 8-3 in their last 11 games following a straight up win.
These trends aren’t shocking when you consider where both teams currently rank in defensive efficiency. Atlanta has the second-best defensive efficiency in the NBA right now while Los Angeles owns the seventh-most efficient defense.
No wonder why the total has dropped a full four points since the number posted.
