Warriors continue their slide
Golden State suffered its seventh consecutive loss on Friday night, 109-100 at the Clippers. The Warriors have managed to cover the spread in their last two losses. Golden State is 9-31 on the season, 3-18 on the road, 19-21 against the spread and 23-17 with the under.
The Warriors are scoring just 104.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting just 42.9 percent from the field. Defensively, Golden State is allowing 112.7 points per contest while opponents shoot 46.9 percent from the field. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team with 23.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. Alec Burks is adding 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest.
Grizz win fourth straight
Memphis is riding a four-game win streak right now. The Grizzlies are coming off a 134-121 win at home over the Spurs on Friday night. They have covered the spread in all four wins. Memphis is 17-22 on the season, 9-12 at home, 20-18-1 against the spread and 22-17 with the over.
The Grizzlies are scoring 113.2 points per game on offense this year while shooting 47 percent as a team. Defensively, Memphis is allowing 116.4 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent against them. Jaren Jackson Jr. is leading the team with 18.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Ja Morant is adding 18.0 points and 6.8 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The Warriors are 4-13 against the spread in their last 17 Sunday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games against a team with a losing home record.
Memphis
The Grizzlies are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games and in four straight as a home favorite.
Prediction:
Memphis already owns a 110-102 win at Golden State this season, but they did fall to the Warriors at home in November back when Stephen Curry was still playing. I like Memphis a lot in this one. The Warriors haven’t been terribly competitive with anyone during this losing skid. All but one loss has been by at least seven points. Memphis is scoring at a high rate right now, putting up at least 117 points in six straight games. That should continue against this awful Golden State defense. I like the young Grizzlies to continue their momentum against the tanking Warriors.
NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies -6.5
