Trends favor dogs in NBA on Friday
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Three NBA playoffs Conference Quarterfinals matchups will take place tonight and based on the trends, it could be a good night for the underdog.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Mavericks are 1-point favorites over the Rockets at 7:00PM ET while the Raptors are 4.5-point underdogs versus the Wizards at 7:00PM ET and the Spurs are favored at -4.5 versus the Clippers at 9:30PM ET. All three of these contests are Game 3s of the Conference Quarterfinals.
The underdog is a perfect 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between the Raptors and Wizards, while the road team is also 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and Toronto is 5-1 ATS in its last six games in Washington. The underdog is also having success covering the spread in the Clippers-Spurs series, as it’s 11-3 against the number in the last 14 meetings between these two teams.
The only series where the trends favor the favorite is the Houston-Dallas matchup, where the fave is 4-1 against the number in the last five meetings between the two teams. That said, the Rockets are 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between the two teams.
