Hawks vs. Magic Series Odds
(TheSpread) – The Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic are expected to have a competitive series in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. But, how do oddsmakers see this series playing out?
The Magic is the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 52-30 record while the Hawks are the 5th seed with a 44-38 record.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com the Magic are a slight favorite to win the series with odds of -600 while the Hawks have odds of +400 to pull off the upset.
Orlando was second in the Southeast Division with a 52-30 record. The Magic was 29-12 at home and 23-18 on the road. Orlando was 36-16 in conference play and they won 6 of their last 10 games entering the playoffs.
Atlanta finished third in the Southeast, eight games behind Orlando for second. The Hawks were 24-17 at home and 20-21 on the road while going 31-21 in conference play. Atlanta has lost its last 6 games coming into the playoffs.
These two teams faced off four times this season and Atlanta won three of the four meetings, including the last three contests. The Hawks had a scoring edge of +15 throughout the four games.
Trends show that Orlando is 1-7 against the spread in their last 8 games as a home favorite and 4-14 ATS in their last 18 as a favorite overall. Atlanta is just 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 playoff games as an underdog.
In terms of injuries, Atlanta center Jason Collins is probable to play despite an ankle injury while Orlando guard J.J. Redick is questionable for the opener due to an abdominal injury.
