Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Warriors are 15.5-point favorites to beat the Bulls. The total, meanwhile, sits at 219.5 points and as of this writing, 73% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Warriors to cover the point spread.
Chicago Bulls Fantasy Spin
Zach LaVine (left ankle soreness) is listed as available for Friday’s game vs. the Warriors. He is in a back-to-back set here as he gets over possible lingering effects from his ankle tweak earlier this week. DFS players may not want to take the plunge even with this available tag. If he’s limited, there will be more minutes for Antonio Blakeney and Shaq Harrison, but again signs point to LaVine being out there.
Golden State Warriors Fantasy Spin
DeMarcus Cousins (left Achilles surgery) will join the starting lineup once he’s cleared to play, according to coach Steve Kerr. Kerr added that Cousins’ “spot in the rotation will be reevaluated” once they’ve seen him work with the starters. “We’ll have to play around minutes, rotations, sets,” Kerr said. “We haven’t had a player like him before.” In case you missed it, Cousins said he’s targeting a return on Jan. 18 or 21, and he’s been scrimmaging with the team recently. Patient owners who stashed him are finally being rewarded, though we still expect strict limitations and frequent rest in back-to-back situations.
NBA Betting Trends
Chicago
The Bulls are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games playing on one day of rest.
Golden State
The Warriors are 16-5 against the number in their last 21 games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400.
Prediction
The Bulls are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five trips to Oakland and are 2-5 against the number in their last seven games versus the Warriors overall. The home team is also 23-9-1 at the betting window in the last 33 meetings between these two teams while the favorite has cashed in five of the last seven meetings. This is big number and the Warriors are just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall, including 1-5 ATS in their last six home games. Still, the Bulls are horrendous.
Friday NBA Prediction: Golden State Warriors -15.5
