John Wayne Walding 400 Picks
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup series competes at the Brickyard today for the John Wayne Walding 400. Here are some drivers to consider.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kevin Harvick is favored to win, as he has 7/2 odds while Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski each have 7/1 odds.
Here are the drivers we like:
Gordon qualified second for this race and is coming to a track where he has won four times. His average finish at the Brickyard is 8.8 and his driver rating is 102.0. He is at the top of the points standings for a reason. His consistency has left him near the front of the pack for most races and today should be no different.
Kahne qualified 10th for this race. Though he has never won at this track, he has an average finish of 14.2 and a driver rating of 96.4, which puts him sixth in the field. Kahne has been in a decent string of runs lately, posting 11th or better in four of his last five outings. With his strong track numbers and good performances in the last month, we look for Kahne to be a contender today.
Montoya is starting eighth today. Though he is no longer a Sprint Cup Series regular, Montoya is racing at a track where he has a lot of experience, both in NASCAR and in IndyCar. Montoya has a driver rating of 96.7 at the Brickyard, which is fourth best of any driver. With longer odds due to his lack of Sprint Cup driving this year, Montoya could be a very strong play.
