KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar left Friday night’s game against Cleveland in the seventh inning when his left foot came down directly on Indians first baseman Carlos Santana’s foot as he tried to beat out a bunt.
Escobar limped to the dugout and was replaced by Chris Getz for the top of the eighth. The Royals said Escobar’s injury was a left ankle sprain and his status is day-to-day.
