NEW YORK (AP) -The Mets are cutting the average price of season ticket prices by at least 10 percent following a dismal opening season at Citi Field.
The team said Thursday that some locations will have cuts or more than 20 percent. All season tickets will go down in price.
Picked by some to reach the World Series, the Mets were devastated by injuries to Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, David Wright, Johan Santana, J.J. Putz and others. They head into the final weekend of the season with a 67-92 record, their worst since 2003.
The Mets’ highest-priced seat averaged $495 per game this year.
