Will Mike Leake lead Cardinals to victory vs. Reds? MLB Predictions 4/29/17

Reds vs. Cardinals Prediction

Will Mike Leake lead the Cardinals to a win against his former team when St. Louis hosts the Reds today at 2:15PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are -170 money line favorites versus the Reds, who have odds of +160 to pull off the upset today in St. Louis. With Leake set to face Bronson Arroyo in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

In his last start, Arroyo held the Cubs to two earned runs over six innings last Sunday in a Reds victory. He allowed a two-run home run to Anthony Rizzo in the top of the fourth inning but was solid otherwise. He struck out seven batters without issuing a walk and allowed just three total hits on the day. Arroyo still owns a 6.88 ERA overall.

Leake continued his strong 2017 campaign with another solid start last week. He held the Brewers to two earned runs over six innings in Milwaukee. He also walked three but surrendered just three hits while improving his record to 3-1. His ERA now sits at 1.32 and his WHIP is 0.88.

Bet Tonight’s Rays vs. Blue Jays Game

OUR PREDICTION: The Reds have dropped seven of Arroyo’s last 10 starts, are 2-6 in his last eight starts versus division rivals and are winless at 0-5 in his last five outings coming off five days of rest. On the oher side, the Cardinals have won four of Leake’s last five starts coming off a quality start in his last appearance. The Cardinals routed Arroyo in the first weekend of the season and I doubt he’ll pitch well today.
