Luis Cessa threw the last three innings for his second save of the season, allowing three hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Andrew McCutchen was a perfect 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, two walks and two runs. Giancarlo Stanton finished 1-for-4 with a walk, a run and two RBIs. Aaron Hicks went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Didi Gregorius finished 1-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Gleyber Torres was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Gary Sanchez was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run. Luke Voit finished 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, a run and two RBIs. Brett Gardner was 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
Maile reaches base four times
Toronto catcher Luke Maile went 2-for-2 plus two walks from the bottom of the order yesterday in the loss to New York. Aledmys Diaz and Devon Travis both finished 1-for-3 with a double. Marco Estrada suffered the loss as he was shelled for eight earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and three walks over 2 2/3 innings.
Sean Reid-Foley (1-3, 6.86 ERA) draws the start today for the Blue Jays, while the Yankees counter with CC Sabathia (7-6, 3.54).
