The Colorado Rockies are a half-game out of first place in the extremely competitive NL West race as they begin a series at home tonight versus the fading San Francisco Giants. Can Colorado defeat San Francisco and its ace Madison Bumgarner today as favorites on the moneyline?

Giants shut down by Syndergaard
San Francisco was held to two hits at home Sunday afternoon as it lost 4-1 to Noah Syndergaard and the New York Mets. Syndergaard threw his first career complete game to earn the win. Evan Longoria went 1-for-4, while Alen Hanson finished 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. Chris Stratton helped his own cause by driving in the run on a sacrifice fly. Stratton took the loss as he gave up two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks over six innings.
Dahl helps power Rockies to win
Charlie Blackmon finished 3-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI from the leadoff spot as Colorado salvaged a split of the four-game series with a 7-3 victory. Trevor Story finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. David Dahl went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Chris Iannetta ended the game 1-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Kyle Freeland earned the win as he allowed three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks over six innings.
Madison Bumgarner (5-5, 2.68 ERA) will start today for the Giants, while Tyler Anderson (6-7, 4.79) gets the call for the Rockies.
MLB Betting Trends
San Francisco
The Giants are 2-6 in their last eight road games. The under is 20-8-2 in the last 30 San Francisco road games.
Colorado
The Rockies are 19-8 in their last 27 home games. The under is 10-4-1 in Anderson’s last 15 home starts.
Prediction:
San Francisco’s offense is putrid right now, but playing in the thin air of Denver should help. Anderson has struggled the last month, while Bumgarner is pitching well and knows how to navigate at Coors Field. I’m going to take a shot at the underdog bet here.
