Myers leads way to win

Wil Myers had a strong night at the plate for the Padres yesterday as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Jose Pirela finished 2-for-3, while Freddy Galvis drove in the other run in the 4-3 victory. Brad Hand gave up two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout in one inning of work, holding on for his 23rd save.

Polanco perfect at plate

Austin Meadows was 1-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Trevor Williams took the loss as he allowed four earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks over 4 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Pittsburgh

The Pirates are 3-7 in their last 10 games overall. The under is 15-6-1 in the last 21 Pittsburgh Sunday games.

San Diego

The Padres are 3-10 in their last 13 games overall. The under is 8-0 in the last eight San Diego games following a win.

Prediction:

Both pitchers are reliable, but I’m going to go with the hosts here. Ross has been the more consistent pitcher and loves pitching in his home stadium. I don’t see the Pirates generating much offense against him and if he goes deep in the game, it will bode well for San Diego. Pittsburgh is struggling right now and I can’t bet on it to win a road series.
