Tigers vs. Rockies Pick

Will the Detroit Tigers be able to put up any fight against the Colorado Rockies when the two meet tonight at 8:40PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Rockies are the favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -170 to win. The Tigers are listed with a money line of +155 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 12.5 runs. These two haven’t met since 2014, with the Tigers winning the last four encounters.

The pitching matchup tonight has Jordan Zimmerman (7-11, 6.11 ERA) on the mound for the Tigers to face Antonio Senzatela (10-4, 4.52) of the Rockies. Senzatela has been pretty respectable on the mound lately, allowing six runs over his last 19 innings. He has 91 strikeouts with 40 walks and a 1.27 WHIP. Zimmerman has been a mess, allowing seven runs in each of his last three starts. He has 91 strikeouts with 41 walks this season and a 1.54 WHIP.

The Tigers are coming off a series loss in Chicago and have lost seven of their last 10 games. Detroit is 56-73 overall and 25-41 on the road this season. The Tigers are putting up 4.77 runs per game while allowing 5.31 per contest. Detroit has been led by Justin Upton, who has 36 doubles with 28 home runs and 93 RBI. Nicholas Castellanos, who has 23 doubles and 18 home runs with 72 RBI.

Colorado has won three of its last four games, including a series win in Atlanta. The Rockies are now 71-59 overall and 38-25 at home. Colorado is putting up 5.15 runs per game this season while allowing 4.77 per contest. Nolan Arenado is leading the team with 29 home runs, 39 doubles and 108 RBI. Charlie Blackmon is adding 28 doubles, 31 home runs and 82 RBI.

Bet on Tigers vs. Rockies

The Tigers aren’t a team to expect big things from and, with Zimmerman on the mound, it’s likely to be worse. The Colorado hitters should be able to mash the Detroit hitters. I don’t expect this game to be close, as Detroit doesn’t have reliable hitting right now. Colorado will certainly put up a big number. The run line of -1.5 for Colorado carries a line of -105. I feel confident that bet will hit.
