GAME SNAPSHOT

(975) Boston Red Sox at (976) Miami Marlins

Tuesday, April3, 2018

Location: Marlins Park – Miami, Florida

Weather: Indoors if needed

Time: 6:10PM ET

CURRENT ODDS

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Boston is favored in this game, as the Red Sox are getting odds of -255 to win against Miami. The Marlins are getting a money line of +220 to prevail. The over/under total is currently listed at 7.5 runs.

PITCHING MATCHUP

Today’s pitching matchup features Chris Sale on the mound for Boston to face Jose Urena of the Marlins. Sale actually started in Boston’s lone loss this season, 6-4 to the Rays. He went six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit with nine strikeouts. The bullpen blew the lead the Sox had. Urena gave up five runs over four innings in a loss to the Cubs to start the season. He gave up six hits and four walks with just two strikeouts.

PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION

The public betting for this game is backing Boston. The Red Sox are getting 84 percent of the wagers as a road favorite against the Marlins.

KEY INJURIES

Neither team has any new players listed on the injury report for today’s contest.

BETTING STRATEGIES

Boston won the series opener on Monday, 7-3. The Red Sox racked up 12 hits in the win, including two home runs. Hanley Ramirez had one of the homers and drove in two runs while Christian Vazquez had a pair of hits with two RBI. Brian Johnson earned the win on the mound, allowing six hits and one run over six innings.

Trevor Richards took the loss for the Marlins. He gave up five runs on eight hits over 4.1 innings of play. Starlin Castro led Miami at the plate, as he had three hits with a RBI and a run scored. Cameron Maybin added two hits and a RBI for the Marlins as well.

The money line for Boston is not really worth betting on. You won’t get much of a payout. Still, Boston should be able to win this game behind the arm of Sale and their hitters against a struggling Urena. The run line of 1.5 gives Boston a money line of -135. I think that is the better option, as I like the Sox to cruise in this game.
