Can the Houston Astros avoid another loss at home to the Washington Nationals when the two meet up at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Houston is favored at home, as the Astros are getting odds of -160 to win, while the Nationals are getting a money line of +145 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 9.5 runs.

The pitching matchup tonight has Edwin Jackson (4-2, 2.92 ERA) on the mound for the Nationals to face Mike Fiers (7-8, 4.32) of the Astros. Jackson has been steady since joining the Nationals. He has allowed one run in three of his last four starts. He now has 31 strikeouts with 12 walks this season and a 1.33 WHIP. Fiers has been struggling, allowing at least three runs in four of his last five starts. He has 131 strikeouts and 53 walks on the season with a 1.34 WHIP.
Washington took the first game in the series on Tuesday, 4-3. The Nationals have actually won nine straight meetings with Houston, dating all the way back to 2012. Washington is now 75-48 overall and 40-23 on the road. Houston is now 76-49 overall and 36-28 at home.
Tuesday’s game saw Washington come back from an early 2-0 deficit to pick up the 4-3 win. Charlie Morton took the loss after allowing four runs in six innings. Tanner Roark got the victory by pitching 5.2 innings and allowing three runs. Howie Kendrick and Matt Wieters each drove in a pair of runs for the Nationals. Josh Reddick had three hits and drove in two runs to lead Houston.
The Nationals picked up a win with a non-favorable pitching matchup on Tuesday. I like the pitching matchup tonight, as Jackson has looked good hi a Washington uniform. Fiers has been struggling for some time and faces one of the better lineups in the National League. Houston may be able to get some runs on Jackson, but I feel the Astros will be playing from behind all game.
