Indians vs. White Sox Pick
Will the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians find enough pop in their bats to get to 10 runs tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Cleveland is the clear favorite in the game, as the Indians are getting odds of -230 to win. The White Sox are listed with odds of +200 to prevail, while the over/under total has been set at 9.5 runs.

The pitching matchup tonight has Danny Salazar (3-5, 4.79 ERA) on the mound for the Indians to face Derek Holland (5-9, 5.12) of the White Sox. Holland has not been good lately, allowing 19 earned runs over his last four starts, a total of 19.2 innings. On the year, Holland has 82 strikeouts with 42 walks and a 1.50 WHIP. Salazar made his first start in nearly two months last week and pitched seven innings of scoreless ball against the Blue Jays, allowing just one hit. He has 85 strikeouts on the season with 28 walks and a 1.42 WHIP.
Cleveland is rolling along right now, winning seven straight following a sweep of the Angels. The Indians are now 55-45 overall and 27-21 on the road. Cleveland is putting up 4.89 runs per game while giving up just 3.93 per contest. The Indians are being led by Jose Ramirez, who has 31 doubles with 17 home runs and 52 RBI. Edwin Encarnacion is adding 21 home runs with 59 RBI.
The White Sox are coming off three straight losses to the Cubs entering this weekend series. Chicago is now 39-60 on the season overall and 19-25 at home. The Sox are putting up 4.36 runs per game while giving up 5 runs per contest. Leading Chicago this season is Avisail Garcia, who has 17 doubles, 13 home runs and 54 RBI. However, Garcia was just placed on the 10-day DL with a thumb injury. Jose Abreu has hit 27 doubles, 18 home runs and 63 RBI for the Sox.
Both pitchers have struggled this season, but today’s matchup looks like it will be low-scoring. Salazar had a great start back from injury and he should be able to build on that today against a depleted Chicago roster. The Sox have been struggling to score in recent games as is and is now without Garcia. Cleveland is capable of lighting up Holland, but I don’t trust in them to be able to put up 7 or 8 runs in order to hit the over.
