Blue Jays vs. Angels Prediction

Will Marcus Stroman lead the Blue Jays past the Angels today at 3:37PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Blue Jays are -140 money line favorites versus the Angels, who have odds of +130 to pull off the upset at home. With Stroman set to oppose Daniel Wright in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs.

BLUE JAYS KEY TRENDS: The Blue Jays are 4-1 in their last five games versus American League west opponents but are just 3-7 in their last 10 games coming off a loss. They’re also 2-8 in their last 10 road games, 1-5 in their last six games versus a team with a losing record and are 1-7 in their last eight road games when facing a right-handed starter.

ANGELS KEY TRENDS: The Angels have won 12 of their last 16 home games, are 13-5 in their last 1 games when they play the third game of a series and have won nine of 13 games versus a right-handed starter. That said, they’re 1-4 in their last five games when facing a team with a winning percentage below .400 and are 2-9 in their last 11 games overall.

Bet Today’s Blue Jays vs. Angels Game

OUR PICK: The Blue Jays’ horrific start to the season doesn’t appear to be turning around quickly but I still like this pitching matchup for Toronto. The Angels are 1-4 in Wright’s last five starts and it’s not like they’re playing great ball at the moment either (they’re 8-11 on the season and 2-8 over their last 10 games). Stroman has deserved better than his 1-2 start and I do expect his 4.05 ERA to come down with a quality start today.
