Latest on Ramirez via Rotoworld: Ramirez earned a win by tossing six innings while allowing two runs against the Angels on Wednesday. He started off in shaky fashion by allowing a two-run shot to Albert Pujols in the first inning. That was the only real difficulty he faced all evening. He surrendered just four base hits and one walk while striking out two batters. He owns a 3-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. This was his second start since replacing Blake Snell in the rotation. He made 11 appearances in relief previously.
Perez picked up his second win by limiting the Phillies to two runs over seven innings Thursday. Perez struck out eight, which matches his career high; he fanned eight twice in 2013 and once in 2014. Perez has a decent 3.71 ERA through nine starts, but his WHIP stands at 1.57. Given his weaknesses in the other categories, he needs to have a particularly strong ERA to be of any use in fantasy leagues.
