Rockies vs. Dodgers Prediction
Will the red-hot Dodgers pick up another win tonight when they host the Rockies at 10:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Dodgers are -255 money line favorites to beat the Rockies, who have odds of +235 to pull off the upset in Los Angeles. With Tyler Chatwood set to face Clayton Kershaw in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 7 runs.
From Rotoworld: Chatwood walked four but limited the Giants to just two runs on five hits over six innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s win. Chatwood was not at his sharpest in terms of control (62 strikes in 114 pitches), but the Giants were mostly unable to capitalize on his inability to find the strike zone. The only run-scoring damage on his line came in the form of a two-run home run surrendered to Brandon Crawford in the fifth inning. He will bring a 4.08 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into a road start against the Dodgers next time he toes the rubber. The road warrior holds a 2.41 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in eight starts away from Coor’s Field this season.
Kershaw was charged with six runs, six hits and a walk over 6 1/3 innings in a win Monday against the Mets. Kershaw’s ERA rose from a National League-leading 2.23 to 2.61. He was spotted a 7-0 lead after the first two innings and he had it on cruise control, allowing a career-high four homers. Kershaw has had a bit of a problem with the long ball lately, allowing 10 over 31 2/3 innings with at least one in five straight starts.
OUR PREDICTION: The Dodgers have won 41 of Kershaw’s last 51 starts, are 23-5 in his last 28 outings against the Rockies, and have won 14 of his last 16 home starts versus Colorado. The Rockies, meanwhile, are just 19-42 in their last 61 games in Los Angeles and have dropped six of Chatwood’s last seven starts against the Dodgers.
SATURDAY MLB PREDICTION: LOS ANGELES DODGERS -1.5 (-120)
