Will the Cubs win their home opener tonight when they host the Dodgers at 8:05PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cubs are -155 money line favorites versus the Dodgers, who have odds of +140 to pull off the upset tonight at Wrigley. With Alex Wood set to face Jon Lester in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

Wood was slated to start the season in the bullpen but with Rich Hill dealing with a finger injury, the youngster will start tonight in Chicago. He was competing for the final rotation spot out of spring training before being relegated to the bullpen. Wood made 14 appearances for the Dodgers last season, posting a 3.73 ERA across 60.1 innings (10 starts).

Lester had an okay season opener in St. Louis, throwing five innings in a no-decision. He allowed only one earn run on seven hits while striking out seven, but he labored through those five innings. Carlos Martinez was simply better for the Cardinals, who won their home opener when Randal Grichuk had a walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth.

Meanwhile, the Cubs are 21-5 in Lester’s last 26 home starts, are 35-17 in his last 52 starts and are 4-0 in his last four outings versus National League West opponents.
