PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION

As of this writing, 60% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Cardinals to beat the Brewers on the money line. Meanwhile, 77% of the betting tickets are on the over.

OUR PREDICTION

I don’t trust Martinez right now. He has Cy Young stuff but he had a brutal spring and a rough opening day, surrendering five runs (Four earned) on four hits and six walks over 4 1/3 innings against the Mets. That’s a bad sign for tonight, as the Brewers have faced Martinez at home three times last year and they won each game by an average of 5.3 runs per game. So, I like Milwaukee tonight, but I like the over better. Here’s why: In five career starts against the Cardinals, Chacin is 0-5 and has a 5.46 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. The over is 3-1-1 in Martinez’s last five road starts against the Brewers, is 6-1 in his last seven road starts, and is 5-1 in his last six outings coming off five days of rest.
