Cardinals vs. Phillies Prediction
Will the Cardinals and Phillies play over the betting total tonight at 7:05PM ET when they meet in Philadelphia?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cardinals are -164 money line favorites versus the Phillies, who have odds of +145 to pull off the upset at home. With Mike Leake set to face Jeremy Hellickson in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Leake pitched six innings and gave up six runs Wednesday in a loss to the Brewers. Leake opened up with nine straight quality starts, but he’s 0-for-4 since (he did come close in two of those). His ERA is up to 3.14 after he finished April at 1.35 and May at 2.24. He’ll probably be solid the rest of the way, but it was always obvious he was overachieving those first two months.
Hellickson surrendered six runs and nine hits in five-plus innings Wednesday against the Red Sox. After starting off 5-1 with a 3.44 ERA, Hellickson is 0-4 with a 7.57 ERA in his last five starts. It doesn’t bode well for the Phillies’ chances of getting a quality prospect for him at the trade deadline. The Red Sox are one of the teams that could be in the market for a starter, but they didn’t see much good from Hellickson.
Bet Tonight’s Cardinals vs. Phillies Game
OUR PREDICTION: The over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in Philadelphia and has cashed in the Cardinals’ last six games overall. It is also 5-1 in St. Louis’ last six road games, is 4-0 in its last four games following a loss, and is 34-16-3 in the club’s last 53 games against the National League East. The top of the Cardinals’ lineup is hot but their pitching has been bad for two weeks. Throw in the fact that they’ll play in a hitter’s park tonight and I’ll take the over.
TUESDAY MLB PREDICTION: CARDINALS/PHILLIES OVER 9.5
