Dodgers vs. Royals Pick

With a pair of solid pitchers on the mound, will the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Dodgers manage to get to 7 runs today at 4:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Dodgers are the clear favorite today, as they are getting odds of -310 to win. The Royals are listed with odds of +265 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 7 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Clayton Kershaw (13-2, 2.19 ERA) pitching for the Dodgers against Danny Duffy (5-4, 3.51) of the Royals. Kershaw has had three straight starts without allowing an earned run. He has 146 strikeouts and 22 walks this season with a 0.89 WHIP. Duffy has been good for the most part as well, allowing 29 earned runs over 74.1 innings of work. He has 58 strikeouts with 27 walks and a 1.36 WHIP.

After pulling off a 4-1 win on Friday, the Dodgers had to go 10 innings to earn a 5-4 win over the Royals on Saturday. Los Angeles is now 60-29 on the season and 38-11 at home while Kansas City is 44-42 overall and 20-23 on the road.

Saturday’s game ended with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th. Cody Bellinger drew the walk and he also had his 25th home run of the season to lead the Dodgers in the win. Joc Pederson also drove in a pair of runs. The two teams combined to use 13 pitchers in the game. Both starters went six innings. The Royals were led in the loss by Salvador Perez, who had his 18th home run of 2017.

Bet on Royals vs. Dodgers

With both bullpens getting a lot of work on Saturday, the starters need to log some innings today. That shouldn’t be an issue for Kershaw, but I am not sure if Duffy can match. Still, Kershaw could very likely continue his scoreless streak against the Royals, who aren’t a terribly potent offense. Duffy has been able to compete with most opponents, so I don’t see the Dodgers lighting up the scoreboard either. The total isn’t high, but I am going to go with the under.
