Rotoworld on Espino: Brewers recalled Espino from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Brent Suter was sent back to Colorado Springs in the corresponding move. Espino will make his big league debut at 30 years young Friday against the Cubs. The right-hander earned his promotion by going undefeated with an impressive 2.54 ERA over his first seven starts for Colorado Springs.
Butler blanked the Cardinals for six innings in his Cubs debut Friday.
Butler walked three and threw a wild pitch, but he gave up just two hits, both of which were singles. He struck out five. He’s not likely to be particularly consistent and it doesn’t help matters that the Cubs defense isn’t what it was last year, but he’s still not a bad roll of the dice in mixed leagues.
Bet Today’s Brewers vs. Cubs Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Brewers have won six of their last seven games overall, are 4-1 in their last five road games, and are 9-3 in their last 12 games when playing the first game of a new series. The Cubs, meanwhile, have dropped eight of their last 11 games versus a team with a winning record and given the pitching matchup, it’s worth taking a hot Milwaukee taking getting plus odds.
FRIDAY MLB PREDICTION: MILWAUKEE BREWERS +140
