From Rotoworld: Lively allowed five runs – four earned – and seven hits with no walks or strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss at Arizona on Saturday. Lively cracked a two-run homer off of his counterpart Robbie Ray, but Odubel Herrera didn’t help him out with a costly error and Lively managed just 50 strikes on 79 pitches in a shaky outing. He had a quality start and a no-decision against Arizona in the first meeting June 18, but was unable to replicate those results. He hasn’t won since his debut June 3, a span of five outings.
deGrom limited the Giants to one run over eight innings, striking out seven, and the Mets came on late to grab a 5-2 win Saturday. deGrom scattered four hits and a walk but was in danger of not factoring in the decision after Brandon Belt’s solo homer in the seventh inning tied the game at 1-1. Fortunately for the right-hander, the Mets answered in the top of the eighth and the bullpen held on, getting him his third straight win. He’s allowed one run while going at least eight innings in each of those three wins, improving him to 7-3 with a 3.71 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 15 starts overall.
