MLB Predictions and Picks: Our 3 Best Bets for Tuesday July 7, 2026 MLB Predictions and Picks: Our 3 Best Bets for Tuesday July 7, 2026

Jacob Misiorowski takes the ball in St. Louis carrying the lowest ERA of any qualified starter in the sport, and he sets the tone for a Tuesday card that stretches from a lunchtime doubleheader opener to a nightcap under the lights at Chavez Ravine. The Rays and Yankees renew their AL East fight in the Florida dome, while the Dodgers, owners of the best record in baseball, try to bury a Rockies club sitting last in the National League West.

Twelve games fill the board today, which leaves bettors plenty of room to be selective, as it did in Monday’s best bets. We hunted for the cleanest edges and landed on three: an early-afternoon moneyline lean, a primetime total in a division rivalry, and a late-night run-line play out West. The reasoning for each sits below, so keep scrolling.

This is a day-night doubleheader opener, and the pitching gap is stark. Milwaukee sends Jacob Misiorowski, who leads all qualified pitchers in ERA at 1.47. He also tops the league in WHIP (0.78) and strikeouts (156) across 104 innings. St. Louis counters with Hunter Dobbins, recalled from Triple-A Memphis for a spot start to cover the extra game.

Misiorowski is not untouchable. He took the loss in his last outing against the Reds, giving up five runs on five hits over five innings. Only one of those runs was earned, so the line score looked worse than the start. Still, the profile is elite, and he faces a lineup starting a fill-in arm. Read our standalone breakdown in the Game 1 preview.

The Brewers sit among the National League’s best teams, while the Cardinals are 47-40 and treading water. The market has noticed. Milwaukee’s moneyline steamed from -185 at open to -199, a clear sign of one-way support on the road favorite.

The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers Moneyline (-199)

The case for Milwaukee is simple. The league’s ERA leader is on the mound against a pitcher just called up for a spot start, and sharp money pushed the price higher through the morning. The case against is the price itself. Laying -199 means risking nearly two units to win one, and Misiorowski’s 1.47 ERA is unlikely to hold all season. In a doubleheader, bullpens get stretched and short games turn strange. We still lean Brewers here, but prefer the moneyline to laying the -1.5 run line given how volatile a single day game can be.

Mid-Day Game — New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays

New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays — Time & How to Watch

Tampa Bay carries a 52-35 record and sits atop the AL East, a few lengths clear of the 49-40 Yankees. New York needs games like this to keep pace in the division.

The Rays start left-hander Ian Seymour, who is 5-1 with a 4.02 ERA. New York answers with right-hander Will Warren, 7-3 with a 3.73 ERA and 91 strikeouts. Neither is a true ace, but both have been steady, and Tropicana Field is a fixed-roof park that takes wind and the elements out of the equation.

The number tells a story. This total opened at 8.0 and was bet down to 7.5, with the under drawing the support. That is meaningful line movement in a game between two capable but non-elite starters.

The Pick: Under 7.5 (+100)

The case for the under starts with the market. A half-run of movement toward the under, in a dome that removes the elements, is exactly the setup where the low side holds up. Two mid-rotation starters and the familiarity of a division rivalry often produce tight, low-scoring baseball, and getting plus money on the under is a bonus. The case against is that both lineups can do damage in a hurry. Warren’s 3.73 ERA is solid but not overpowering, and Tampa Bay has shown pop at home. One three-run inning can flip a game like this. We still side with the under given the price and the signal in the line.

Late Game — Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers — Time & How to Watch

WhereDodger Stadium, Los Angeles CA
WhenTuesday, July 7 – 10:10 PM ET
TVSportsNet LA

The nightcap is a mismatch on paper. Los Angeles is 60-32, the best mark in the majors, and hands the ball to left-hander Justin Wrobleski, who is 10-2 with a 2.80 ERA over 93.1 innings. Colorado arrives at 37-54, last in the NL West.

The Rockies counter with right-hander Michael Lorenzen, and the numbers are grim. He is 3-9 with a 6.91 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP, and he has surrendered the most hits and earned runs of any pitcher in baseball this season. He did hold the Dodgers to three runs over five innings back in April at Coors Field, so he is not without a pulse against this lineup.

The betting public is all over the favorite. Los Angeles moved from -265 to -280 on the moneyline, and the run line shifted from -1.5 (-125) to -1.5 (-130) as the money poured in.

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers — Who Is the Public Betting?

Rockies5%95%Dodgers

See the latest MLB Public Betting Splits and make smarter wagers!

The Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers Run Line -1.5 (-130)

The case for laying the run line is the pitching edge. A 2.80 ERA arm against a 6.91 ERA arm, at home, for the team with the best record in the sport against the worst road club in the league, is a spot where a two-run margin is very much in play. The case against is the crowd. When 95 percent of the run-line tickets land on one side, value drains out of the number, and laying -1.5 asks the Dodgers to win by two or more rather than simply win. Colorado also just hung seven runs in Monday’s 8-7 extra-inning loss, so the bats are not dead. Blowout-or-bust variance is real. We still take the Dodgers to cover, but treat it as a lean rather than a heavy play.
