LINE MOVEMENT: The A’s opened as -147 money line favorites but their odds have dropped slightly to -144, while the Royals’ odds have gone from +136 down to +133. The total, meanwhile, opened at 7.5 and that’s where it currently sits at most online and Vegas sports books.
PITCHING MATCHUP: The A’s will start Jon Lester, who is 12-7 with a 2.44 ERA against Jeremy Guthrie, who is 8-9 with a 4.35 ERA. Oakland is 72-46 on the year and 32-25 on the road this season, while Kansas City is 64-53 overall and 31-27 at home.
