Rangers pound four homers

Rougned Odor helped pace Texas by going 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 7-4 home victory Saturday over Minnesota. Nomar Mazara and Adrian Beltre were both 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Ronald Guzman finished 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Yovani Gallardo picked up the win as he gave up three earned runs on six hits over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Jose Leclerc earned his eighth save of the season as he struck out two in a spotless inning of work.

Forsythe has three-hit night

Joe Mauer finished 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored from the leadoff spot in yesterday’s loss. Logan Forsythe went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Jake Cave ended the game 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Tyler Austin ended the night 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Jose Berrios took the loss as he surrendered five earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts and three walks over four innings.

Gabriel Moya (3-0, 4.73 ERA) will draw the start today for the Twins, while the Rangers counter with Yohander Mendez (0-1, 14.73).

MLB Betting Trends

Minnesota

The Twins are 2-6 in their last eight games overall. The under is 5-2-1 in the last eight Minnesota games overall.

Texas

The Rangers are 2-6 in their last eight games following a win. The over is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings in Texas.

Prediction:

A battle of two rookies sees Moya come in with a perfect record as he has received plenty of run support. Expect him to get more help today as Mendez hasn’t shown the ability to get MLB hitters out in a small sample size. Factor in the hitter’s park of Globe Life and this sets up well for the visitors. Moya has shown some potential to get MLB hitters out and I think he’ll do enough of that today to get the Twins a win.
