Astros hit two HRs in seventh straight win

George Springer finished 2-for-4 with a walk and a run from the leadoff spot yesterday in a 5-3 win at Boston. Alex Bregman was 1-for-4 with a solo home run, his 30th long ball of the season. He also walked. Tyler White finished 1-for-3 with two walks, a run and an RBI. Martin Maldonado was 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk. Tony Kemp ended the contest 2-for-4. Charlie Morton came off the DL to pick up the win as he allowed two earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Roberto Osuna allowed one earned run on two hits with no strikeouts and a walk for his 15th save of the season.

Bogaerts has three-hit night

Mookie Betts went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and a run in yesterday’s loss to the Astros. Andrew Benintendi finished 2-for-5 with an RBI. Xander Bogaerts was 3-for-4 with his 21st homer of the season plus two RBIs. Eduardo Rodriguez suffered the loss as he gave up five earned runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking three.

Dallas Keuchel (11-10, 3.46 ERA) will start tonight for Houston, while Boston counters with Rick Porcello (16-7, 4.20).

MLB Betting Trends

Houston

The Astros are 14-3 in their last 17 games overall. Houston is 45-17 in its last 62 road games.

Boston

The Red Sox are 37-14 in their last 51 home games. Boston is 3-8 in the last 11 meetings.

Prediction:

Boston is very difficult to sweep at home and Porcello is fully capable of spinning a gem, often having his best starts against top-notch competition. Keuchel is having a dandy season filled with some bad luck, but he isn’t going to shut down a powerful Red Sox offense at Fenway. Go with the home team tonight as Houston’s seven-game winning streak ends.
