The Giants and Reds open a new series tonight at 6:40PM ET. Will Game 1 feature a lot of offense?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Reds are -118 money line favorites versus the Giants, who have odds of +100 to pull off the upset in Cincinnati. With Matt Cain set to face Bronson Arroyo in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

That said, they’re just 3-14 in his last 17 outings after allowing two runs or less in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The over is 12-3-1 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams and 5-1-2 in the last eight meetings in Cincinnati. The over is also 4-0 in Cain’s last four outings against the Reds and is 3-0-1 in Arroyo’s last four starts versus the Giants. Furthermore, the over is 12-3-1 in Arroyo’s last 16 starts overall and is 7-2-1 in his last ten home outings.
