San Francisco Giants DFS SPIN
Patrick Bailey went 2-for-4 with a double on Thursday in the Giants’ loss to the Blue Jays. Bailey singled in the fourth inning to extend his hitting streak to 10 consecutive games. He also doubled and scored a run in the ninth inning as well. The 24-year-old rookie backstop has outperformed expectations so far and appears to be putting himself in position to be San Francisco’s catcher of the future.

Brett Baty hit his fifth homer in one of his two at-bats before leaving for a pinch-hitter Thursday against the Brewers. The Mets sent up Danny Mendick to hit against southpaw Hoby Milner in the seventh, even though Baty has better numbers against lefties than righties this season and Mendick has weak numbers versus lefties in his career. Both of those things are quite likely flukes, but even so… pinch-hitting is hard! Unless it’s really clear that the pinch-hitter has an obvious advantage, you’re better off staying the course, and it certainly wasn’t the case here that Mendick was a better option than Baty. Anyway, Mendick grounded into a fielder’s choice, and when the lineup spot came up again in the ninth, Luis Guillorme grounded out with two on in the one-run loss.
