Tigers offense comes alive in game two

Jordy Mercer helped lead the Tigers offense as he ended the game 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Miguel Cabrera finished 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. John Hicks was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. Drew VerHagen picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks over five innings. Tyler Alexander gets the start today as he enters with an 0-2 record, 4.50 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched.
