Chris Bassitt was torched for seven runs over four innings on Saturday in a loss to the Twins. Bassitt gave up plenty of hard contact, but certainly should’ve fared better in this one. He served up fifth-inning consecutive homers to Willi Castro and Matt Wallner, which might’ve been caught by Gold Glove center fielder Kevin Kiermaier, had he not exited the contest a couple frames earlier due to lower back discomfort. He finished with five strikeouts and also issued a pair of walks. He’ll bring a solid 3.80 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 57/26 K/BB ratio across 66 1/3 innings into a road tilt on Friday against the Mets.

Mark Canha continued being a thorn in the side of the Phillies on Thursday, slugging a go-ahead two-run homer as part of a 4-2 victory. After driving in all four runs (with a go-ahead homer) on Wednesday night, Canha socked another go-ahead shot on Thursday, this time in the fourth inning against Taijuan Walker. The sudden power surge has been very much welcome, as Canha had just three homers through 47 games this season coming into Wednesday’s action. He’s certainly capable of better than what he’s shown until this point, even if the fantasy ceiling is limited.
