Brent Rooker went 0-for-3 before being removed for a pinch-hitter Saturday against the Marlins. Rooker had already been on the bench three of the previous five games, and the A’s today thought they were better off having a struggling Seth Brown cold off the bench hit for him against Dylan Floro in the ninth (it didn’t work). Ji Hwan Bae went 2-for-4 with two RBI in a 2-1 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Ji Hwan Bae and the Pirates jumped all over Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas in the first inning on Sunday. After back-to-back hits from Bryan Reynolds and Jack Suwinski, Bae smacked a ball into center, which allowed both runners to score. The 23-year-old is hitting .274/.325/.363 with 14 RBI, two homers, and 17 stolen bases across 172 plate appearances.
