World Series Game 5 Odds
(The Spread) – The Rangers will look to win one more game at home tonight in Game 5 of the 2011 World Series before heading back to St. Louis.
With their 4-0 win on Sunday night against the Cardinals, the Rangers tied this best-of-seven series at two games apiece. Derek Holland was absolutely masterful in the win, allowing no runs on two hits over 8.1 innings of work. He also struck out seven and allowed just two walks before turning the game over to closer Neftali Feliz in the ninth.
The Cardinals’ bats fell completely silent just one day after they racked up 15 hits and 16 runs in a stunning 16-7 victory in Game 3. Following his three-homer game on Saturday, slugger Albert Pujols went 0-for-4 while leaving two men on base. Matt Holliday also went 0-for-4 and struck out in the top of the ninth to end the game.

Oddsmakers have installed the Rangers as –120 money line favorites for tonight’s game against the Cardinals, who are +113 on the ML. Chris Carpenter and C.J. Wilson will take the mound for their respective clubs in what will be a rematch of Game 1’s pitching matchup.
In that game, Carpenter allowed just two runs on five hits in 6.0 innings to pick up the win in the Cardinals’ 3-2 victory. He struck out four and walked only one in an 87-pitch effort. Wilson, meanwhile, took the loss while allowing three earned runs on four hits over 5.2 innings of work. He struck out four and walked a postseason-high of six batters.
Game 5 will start at 8:05PM ET tonight and can be seen on FOX.
