Altuve powers Astros

Houston picked up a 6-3 victory over visiting Detroit Tuesday night to improve to 81-46 overall and 45-15 at home. Brad Peacock recorded the win in relief as he gave up one hit with three strikeouts and one walk over 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. Roberto Osuna threw a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout for his 29th save. MLB Betting Trends

The Tigers are 19-41 in their last 60 Wednesday games. Detroit is 14-38 in its last 52 road games.

The Astros are 4-1 in the last five Verlander home starts. Houston is 22-9 in its last 31 games overall.

I think this has to be the biggest moneyline gap I've ever seen for an MLB game. My memory isn't always the greatest, but I can't remember seeing anything wider than this. Even the runline bet has big juice. Even so, it's the only bet I'm considering here. Despite Carlos Correa heading to the injured list, the Astros have an array of power hitters who mash lefties. And Verlander is Verlander, plus the added motivation of facing his former team. Take the Astros on the runline.
