White Sox fall in LA

The Chicago White Sox lost three of four games on the road against the Los Angeles Angels this weekend. The Sox are 55-68 on the season, 25-37 on the road and 62-57 with the under. Ivan Nova gets the start for Chicago this evening. He is 8-9 on the season with a 4.51 ERA.

Chicago is struggling at the plate and on the mound this year. The White Sox are averaging just 4.21 runs per game on the year despite hitting .255 as a team. On the mound, the Sox have a 4.87 team ERA and a 1.44 team WHIP. Jose Abreu has been leading the team this year with 27 doubles, 26 home runs and 89 RBI. Yoan Moncada adds 21 doubles, 20 home runs and 59 RBI, but has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has him questionable to play tonight.

Twins sweep Rangers

Minnesota is riding a four-game win streak after sweeping the Rangers on the road this weekend. The Twins are 76-48 on the season, 36-26 at home and 63-54 with the over. Minnesota has Kyle Gibson getting the start tonight. He is 11-5 on the season with a 4.28 ERA.

The Twins are great on offense and defense this year. Minnesota is putting up 5.82 runs per game at the plate while batting .271 as a team. On the mound, Minnesota has a 4.14 team ERA with a 1.30 team WHIP. Eddie Rosario is leading the team this season with 19 doubles, 27 home runs and 82 RBI. Max Kepler is adding 27 doubles, 33 home runs and 81 RBI. Kepler is questionable to play tonight due to an injury, but DH Nelson Cruz is expected back from a wrist injury. He has 32 home runs this year.

MLB Betting Trends

Chicago

The White Sox have won Nova’s last five starts and they are 6-2 in their last eight games following a loss.

Minnesota

The Twins have won eight of their last nine series openers and 38 of their last 55 division games.

Prediction:

Nova struggled for most of the season, but has had an amazing last month, allowing just two earned runs over his last five starts, a total of 37 innings. He has been competitive against the Twins as well, posting a 3.00 ERA over two starts. Gibson has been struggling with walks lately, but he has put up a 1.38 ERA over two starts against the White Sox this year. Chicago has pretty much one big bat to avoid in Abreu while the Twins have much more power to work with. Even if Nova does well once again, the Chicago bullpen is a mess.

MLB Prediction: Minnesota Twins -215
