Akron vs. Ohio Prediction
Will Ohio cover as a sizable favorite tonight when it hosts Akron at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bobcats are a 10.5-point home favorite over the Zips while the over/under total is currently sitting at 53.5. Ohio opened as a 7.5-point favorite before the line was moved up, while the total hit the board at 54.5 before being bet down to 53.5.
The Zips have failed to cover in four of their last five conference games and are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. They’re also just 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games overall.
The Bobcats have covered in four of their last five games following an ATS loss and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. They’re also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in November and are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games versus a team with a losing road record.
OUR PREDICTION: The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams in Ohio. The under is also 19-9 in the Zips’ last 28 road games, is 37-18 in their last 55 games overall and is 35-16 in their last 51 conference games. On the other side, the under is 4-0 in the Bobcats’ last four home games, is 4-1 in their last five games in November and is 33-16-2 in their last 51 games overall. With Akron quarterback Thomas Woodson banged up and backup Tra’Von Chapman (five interceptions, five touchdowns) likely to start, the Zips will have issues moving the ball.
