TROY over Southern Miss by 16

Tuesday night brings us a Sun Belt lid-lifter featuring two teams with more bruises than bragging rights. Southern Miss arrives at 1-3 and riding a three-game losing streak, while 2-2 Troy returns home after dropping back-to-back road games at Missouri and Utah State. For those of you who expected a better break from the gate in 2026 by Southern Miss after they hired veteran head coach Blake Anderson, we refer you to USM’s page in our PLAYBOOK Football Preview Guide where we wrote, “Southern Miss returns little proven production, lost key pieces to graduation and the portal, and now breaks in its fourth head coach since 2024. Bowl eligibility would qualify as a smash success in Year One.” Anderson arrived in Hattiesburg with a 74-54 resumé, but you need the horses to compete, and that will take time. The Golden Eagles have yet to gain altitude following their 49-3 season-opening win over Alcorn State, but they’ve narrowed the margin of defeat from -46 to -35 to 3, so there was still a pulse in their 24-21 loss at Tulane. Backup quarterback Landry Lyddy replaced the injured Ethan Hampton and threw for 243 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. In other words, Southern Miss may have lost the game but found a quarterback. Now the Golden Eagles need to shore up a run defense leaking 235.2 yards per game, ranking 136th among 138 FBS teams. Troy has been printing money against USM over the last five years, thanks to its 5-0 SU/ATS death grip in the series. During that five-game Trojan takeover, Troy has outscored Southern Miss, 163-74, winning by an average of nearly 18 points per game. The Trojans’ calling card remains their defense: they held nationally ranked Missouri to only 230 total yards – the fewest by an SEC team against a Sun Belt opponent since Appalachian State limited Texas A&M to 180 yards in 2022. The Trojans are 18-6 against Sun Belt West opponents since moving divisions in 2022, and that number will improve with another win tonight.

Jacksonville State over KENNESAW STATE by 8

At 3-2 this season, Jax State’s Gamecocks are having a lot more fun than their South Carolina cousins; in fact, if not for a 4-OT loss to Ohio, JSU would be 4-1 heading into the meat of its schedule. Tonight’s clash with KSU is best described as a rematch with teeth. Kennesaw State edged Jacksonville State, 19-15, as a 3-point favorite in last year’s conference championship game, only 20 days after the Gamecocks beat the Owls, 35-26, during the regular season. Jacksonville State has CUSA championship game revenge on its mind tonight, despite knowing its two losses came on the road, 33-7 at rugged North Dakota State and 29-27 at Ohio. Quarterback Caden Creel is the engine, completing 69.1% of his passes for 1,112 yards with nine touchdowns. JSU also averages 392.4 yards and 27.4 points per game while converting a healthy 47.4% of its third downs (FYI: that’s 47.4% more than the Philadelphia Eagles converted in their loss to the Rams on Sunday). We realize the Owls had an eight-game home win skein snapped in its 31-17 loss to Georgia State in September, but the revenge chip that the Gamecocks carry into this contest is simply too much for KSU to overcome here. Jack gets payback, improving to 5-0 ATS all-time in outright wins when looking to avenge a loss since joining the FBS.

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL over New Mexico State by 10

Huge game for the Aggies from Las Cruces. Following head coach Jerry Kill’s swan song 10-5 season in 2023, New Mexico State has been in a 9-20 free fall under third-year coach Tony Sanchez, but a win tonight will get them to .500 this year at 3-3. FIU is already there at 2-2, trying to build on its 7-6 season in 2025, the first winning campaign since 2018 under Butch Davis. Last season, the Panthers claimed four consecutive wins at Pitbull Stadium, but their 2026 offense has struggled, scoring a modest 18 points per game. If you’re looking to assign blame, and who isn’t these days, look no further than 6-7, 250-pound quarterback J.J. “Too Tall” Kohl, who has passed for 1,065 yards but only five touchdowns, compared to six interceptions. Cue the Florida International defense, ranked No. 7 overall in the nation, allowing 14.5 points and 244 total yards per game, including only 80.8 rushing yards. The MIDWEEK ALERT reminds us that FIU is one of 15 squads that have won the stat yardage in each game this season, good for a +174 net yards per game, and with the Panthers toting a tempting 6-1 ATS ledger at home coming off a home game, there’s really only one way to look at it. Remember: C-USA teams are 17-5 at home but only 2-22 on the road this season.

LIBERTY over Sam Houston State by 21
Revenge rears its hungry head in Lynchburg tonight, where Falwell University’s 4-1 Flames host the Sam Houston Bearkats in Thursday’s “Midweek on the Mountain” get-together. Similar to their 13-win campaign in 2023, when the Flames went 13-1 SU and ITS (In The Stats) en route to a 45-6 blowout loss to Oregon in the 2023 Fiesta Bowl, Liberty is dominating on the field in 2026. Under fourth-year head coach Jamey Chadwell, the Flames are one of only nine FBS teams to stand 5-0 ITS this season, winning by an average of +118 net yards per game. They’re also riding a four-game win streak following a narrow 20-13 loss to powerhouse James Madison in the season opener. Sam-I-Am has yet to take the training wheels off this campaign, falling to Troy, 24-21, and against Tulsa, 23-17, before pounding Nicholls, 59-0. No. 11 Texas Tech then took them behind the woodshed, 49-14, despite the Red Raiders committing four turnovers. The Bearkats were outgained 470-269 and lost the first-down battle 24-11, yet somehow held a ten-minute time-of-possession edge over Tech. Revenge is also on the docket for Liberty here after they dropped a 20-18 contest as road chalk at Sam Houston to conclude the 2024 season in their last meeting. Expect strong play from LU quarterbacks Deshawn Purdie (no relation to Brock) and Jaylen Henderson, who have thrown for a combined 115 passes without an interception. With the Flames’ ‘pick-proof’ this season, we suggest you lay it if you play it.

Missouri State over WESTERN KENTUCKY by 6

Folks, there is bad, and then there is Hilltopper bad. The MIDWEEK ALERT took us on a personal tour of 1-4 Western Kentucky’s body of work this season, and we needed a barf bag. In its four games against fellow FBS opponents, Wicky is 0-4 outright, losing the stats by an average of more than -140 net yards per game. Missouri State posted a 7-6 record in its first season as an FBS member in 2025, and while the momentum seems to have faded for the Bears after this year’s 1-3 start, don’t let their record scare you away here. Two of Mo State’s three losses came at Texas A&M and No. 22 SMU – where a fairly unfriendly welcome mat generally greets developing FBS programs. Meanwhile, someone has poisoned the well in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It’s quite a departure from normal life under head coach Tyson Helton, where the Toppers have suffered only one losing campaign in his previous seven-year tenure. Missing in action is a WKU running game that produced 135 YPG last year on 4.2 yards per carry. In last week’s 34-13 loss to New Mexico State, Helton’s offense gained just 35 rushing yards on 31 attempts for 1.1 yards per carry. It’s been just as bad for Western’s rush defense, where the Hilltoppers have been gashed for 217.6 rushing yards per game at an alarming 6.2 yards per carry. The defense, allowing 39.6 points and 421.6 yards per game, has also surrendered 13 sacks while producing only four. Ugh. And we’ll bet you didn’t know that Missouri State is 3-0 in weekday CUSA games, the only league member without a weekday conference loss. With the sun no longer shining bright on WKU’s old Kentucky home, this game has u-p-s-e-t written all over it.

South Alabama over ARKANSAS STATE by 7

We’ve all heard the phrase “follow the money,” and there’s a good reason: it’s important to follow the money to get the money! The “money” in this case comes from our Well-Oiled Machine, as it notes that 3-2 South Alabama is a fully certified ‘mission dog’ this season, a team coming off a losing season after playing in a bowl game each of the prior three seasons. USA head coach Major Applewhite has this game circled after his team narrowly lost to ASU the previous two seasons, 18-16 in 2024 and 15-14 in 2025. Arkansas State (2-3) returns home after falling 23-20 at Louisiana on a game-winning field goal as time expired. That’s rich, considering the Red Wolves beat South Alabama on late field goals each of the past two seasons. Furthermore, the Red Wolves are allowing nearly 200 rushing yards per game and getting off the field on fewer than half of their third-down opportunities. Against the Jaguars’ ball-control attack, another poor defensive performance by Arkansas State should make for a long night for ASU fans. You know what to do.

UTSA over South Florida by 10

This rubber match comes with a decidedly home-cooked flavor. UTSA crushed South Florida, 49-21, inside the Alamodome in 2023. The Bulls returned the favor last season, plowing through the Roadrunners, 55-23, in Tampa. Thus, the home team is 2-0, winning by 28 and 32 points while outscoring the visitor, 104-44. South Florida’s spotless start to 2026 went splat last Saturday when Temple stunned the Bulls, 17-13, snapping USF’s nine-game home winning streak. Six starters missed the game, including USF’s top two tacklers and two starting offensive linemen, so their availability remains a concern. Despite last week’s stumble, the Bulls’ defense remains sparkling. They allow only 14.6 points and 312.4 yards per game, have surrendered just two rushing touchdowns and hold opponents to a 32.8% third-down conversion rate. While USF got its comeuppance last week courtesy of the Owls, UTSA survived what head coach Jeff Traylor called a “trap game from hell,” escaping Rice, 16-14. The Roadrunners scored on their first four possessions (three FGs and a TD), then posted six straight empty drives while being blanked throughout the second half. It’s back to home, sweet home tonight for UTSA, currently 9-1 SU in their last 10 games inside the Alamodome, and a mind-boggling 25-1 home conference record when playing in Marty Robbins’ favorite West Texas town. The UTSA -7 line seems large considering South Florida hasn’t allowed more than 24 points in any game, but with this series’ recent history of home-cooking, we’ll side with the host.

NFL Prediction From Strike Point Sports:

      Take #307 Dallas (-8.5) over Tampa Bay (8:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8)

The Bucs are just not good. Yes, they finally covered a line in what seems like years but they aren’t making it two in a row. The Cowboys have had a very difficult schedule to start the season, and now this week they have a cake walk. The Cowboys offense is outstanding, and the wide receivers are going to give this Bucs secondary fits all game long. Dallas is getting quite efficient in the red zone as well as Williams is finding the endzone with ease. Tampa Bay just doesn’t have the horses offensively to keep pace with the Cowboys, especially in Dallas. This one is an easy double-digit victory for the Cowboys. Lay the big number on the home team.

      NFL Prediction From Scott Rickenbach:

Take First Half #308 Dallas (-5.5) over Tampa Bay (8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8)

The Cowboys have trailed at halftime in 3 of their 4 games this season. However, I feel that is even more reason to back Dallas in the first half here. They are back home again and off a big momentum-boosting win at Houston where they had to rally in the 2nd half. It is time for Dallas to jump out with a strong first half and by betting on Dallas in the first half here we get a number that is below a TD. They will take advantage of a Bucs team that is 0-4 this season and struggling badly. Also, the Buccaneers have been down at the half in 3 of their 4 games so far this season including down by multiple touchdowns in their only road game this season. Not only is TB a disappointing 0-4 this season, but this will also be their first road game since their season opener.. That is what makes their poor start even more concerning and the Cowboys should jump on the Bucs immediately in this game. Grab the first half line as the full game line is more than 8 points and the value is with the first half at under 6 points. Lay it here. Take Dallas on the first half line Thursday.
      Friday, Oct. 9.

College Football Prediction From Doc’s Sports:

Take ‘Under’ 47.5 Tulane at Army (Noon, Saturday, Oct. 10)

We’re backing the under on Saturday as we look for our third straight blowout free play winner! Both teams have taken a step back this season. Tulane sits at 2-2 after reaching the College Football Playoff last year, while Army has suffered two disappointing losses, including a 31-29 defeat at Louisiana Tech last week. Expect Army to lean on its ground game, chew up the clock, and limit possessions. With the Green Wave averaging just 18.8 points per game, we like this matchup to stay under the total.

College Football Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take ‘Over’ 56.5 Maryland at Ohio State (4:15 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10)

That is now five of seven free play winners in this space after a tough beat with Auburn. We will go with a total for our next free selection and I think that Ohio State is going to threaten 50 all on their own. Ohio State’s offense really hasn’t had that blowup game yet. I think it’s coming. They have faced some rugged defenses in Texas and Iowa. The Buckeyes averaged 52 points in the other three games. Further, since the start of the 2021 season the Buckeyes have been conference favorites of 30 or more points six times. They’ve averaged 48.3 points in those six games and four of the six have seen 57 or more points. Maryland has allowed an average of 45.7 points per game over their last three – and none of those teams had an offense as talented as Ohio State’s. Five of their final seven Big Ten games last year had 55 or more combined points and when they played Indiana last year – a similar mismatch – they lost 55-10 at home. I think Maryland’s offense is good enough to hit double-digits in garbage time against an Ohio State defense that is not as strong as the last two years. This one will be a bloodbath and I have it around 48-13. v

      Friday, Oct. 9.
      Soccer Prediction From Doc’s Sports:

Take Philadelphia (-1.5, +100) over Real Salt Lake (7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10)

The Philadelphia Union are one of the hottest sides in MLS and Real Salt Lake is struggling with some of the worst current form in the league. This one should be a blowout. The Union are unbeaten in nine matches after a slow start. They have won six straight matches and have scored 12 goals in their last five. They have recent 5-0 wins over both San Diego and Cincinnati, sides that are head and shoulders above Real Salt Lake. Salt Lake have been horrible on the road and have lost five of six away with a single draw. Philly have won three straight home matches by multiple goals, and they should be rejuvenated after the International Break and should lay down the hammer on struggling Salt Lake on Saturday.

      NFL Prediction From Raphael Esparza:

Take Jacksonville (-6.5) over Philadelphia (9:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 11)

Here we go – another NFL game in London and wouldn’t shock me to see another blow out game like we saw last week in Tottenham. Not only are the Philadelphia Eagles 2-2 this young season but they are 0-4 ATS and coming off a blown lead to the Los Angeles Rams. The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a big road win in Cincinnati. And not only are the Jags 3-1 this season but also 3-1 ATS. Give me the Jacksonville Jaguars in this matchup as they are used to playing across the pond and the Eagles are suffering injuries all over the field. Grab this betting now because wouldn’t shock me to see this number close around 7.5 or even 8.

      NFL Prediction From Nick Menken:

Take Jacksonville (-6.5) over Philadelphia (9:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 11)

International games come down to comfort, routine, and preparation, and nobody handles the London travel schedule better than Jacksonville. While overseas travel throws off most NFL rosters, the Jaguars treat these London games like a home fixture, executing their week without missing a beat. Philadelphia comes into this game trending in the complete wrong direction. With Saquon Barkley likely ruled out for this early kickoff, the Eagles offense loses its main driver and big-play engine. Philadelphia’s overall energy has felt flat and disjointed over recent weeks, and taking a sluggish squad across time zones is a recipe for disaster against an experienced London team. Expect Jacksonville to jump on the Eagles early, dictate tempo with a balanced offensive attack, and pull away to cover the touchdown spread.

      NFL Prediction From Jason Sharpe:

      Take #471 Detroit (-4.5) over Arizona (4:25 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10)

Feels like a big game here for this Detroit team that hasn’t lived up to their expectations early on this season. The Lions played an ugly game last weekend on Sunday night football but were in a tough spot on the road against an emotional Carolina team playing it’s first SNF game in more than a decade. I think Lions should have their full focus in this one not only off a bad defeat but also with their bye week coming up next week. Arizona pulled off a big week one upset over the LA Chargers but that’s not looking as impressive a month into the NFL season as the Chargers are still winless this year. The Cardinals have dropped three in a row coming into this contest and done so by an average of 14 points per game. Play Detroit minus the points. v

      NHL Prediction From Griffin Murphy:

Take Florida (-1.5) over Columbus (6:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13)

Florida comes back into this season with very high expectations. Columbus is 1-1 to enter the season after a bad loss to Utah, which resulted in a 4-1 final. Florida is just a really tough and bad matchup for Columbus across all cylinders on the ice. Florida is older, stronger, and has more chemistry together. Columbus is a scrappy team that beats bad teams and plays competitively against good teams. We just don’t believe Columbus has gotten over the hump yet and expect Florida to drill them in this one. v

Both good voices but one with a +/- reputation.
You can figure out the who’s who?

Too often he wants to be the out of the box guy, when all others are on one side, just for the opportunity to claim that he called it right when others all failed when his side wins).

Babes & Blokes (in no particular order other than an added effort for… …eg 34-24-36 {slim fit!})

Please take a second to list your favourite Service Play providers so that I can save time & avoid posting unnecessary ones. Please take a minute and review what others have requested (if anyone responds!) and try not to duplicate, thx.)
Big name guys from the past decades I tend to always post, hence no need to ever ask in a weekly post. Try to make it clear this week.

( Re these Service Plays, Hv u ever liked a side when a top svc guy is also on it? Then again if on the other side with their GOM/GOY,
I won’t change my spot. I’ll either reduce my wagers or not play my original pick and just watch the game.
      Less regrets, no?

      Have a good one.

What you are doing and the depths you’re doing it at is staggering to me and immensely appreciated by all I’m sure. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe how valuable you’ve been. That’s from my heart and wallet. Now, to answer your question…I love as much info you can provide because at times what appears worthless can be gold. I track all the cappers and newsletters you provide. Like everyone on here, we have our favorite guys but even the worst cappers get on a roll at times and I like to bet guys that are hot. With that being said, providing this must info and the resources you must obtain to acquire it is time consuming and draining for you. It would be great to limit the info you provide, and I’m all for it, but the double-edge sword is you never know who will get on a roll. To make a long story longer, whatever you do is the best decision so I let that be your call.

Hmmmm, I do like weeding out the no-namers and ones with losing records. When many plays are posted with two diff sides, tends to negate a committed to side. Will post as many as I’m around for. Thx
