Nuggets-Suns Matchup
There’s only two days left in the NBA regular season and teams are fighting tooth and nail for playoff position.
Two of those squads are the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns. Here’s the preview from BroburySports.com:
Phoenix is a six-point home favorite at BroburySports. TNT will broadcast at 10:30 pm ET, right after Boston at Chicago.
Denver (53-28, 35-40-6 ATS) played at home last night against Memphis, winning 123-101 as 11-point ‘chalk.’ The Nuggets had embarrassed themselves in a Saturday night home loss to San Antonio.
The Nuggets clinch the third seed in the West with a win tonight. Utah and Phoenix are each a half-game behind Denver, so this game is vitally important.
Kenyon Martin returned to the lineup two games ago from his knee injury. The power forward is very important for his rebounding and defense. He had eight points and six rebounds against Memphis.
Ultimately, this team will go only as far as Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups will take them. J.R. Smith is also important off the bench due to his immense scoring ability.
The Nuggets have the talent to make the NBA Finals, but they need to keep winning to get as high a seed as possible.
Suns have been hot at home
Phoenix (52-28 SU, 46-33-1 ATS) last played Sunday at home against Houston. They won 116-106, ‘covering’ the nine-point spread.
The Suns are 7-0 SU in their last seven home games, going 6-0-1 ATS.
One problem right now is lack of defense. Center Robin Lopez still has his back injury. They were actually playing good ‘D’ for a stretch when he was in there.
Now, they have reverted back to their old ways, trying to outscore opponents with little effort at the defensive end. That has worked against the poor competition of late, but it could backfire versus Denver, and certainly during the playoffs.
These teams have met three times this year with Phoenix winning two and ‘covering’ them all. The Suns won the one home game pretty easily, 101-85 as 2 ½-point ‘chalk’ in early March.
Bet on the Suns and Nuggets at BroburySports.com.
