MLB Games Sportsbooks Are Watching

Major League Baseball is the sport that online bookie agents are spending most of their time dealing with.

As always, the weekend showcases baseball games on which astute sports bettors can make a profit. Those sports bettors aren’t the only ones that know this, though.

Check out which games this weekend has gotten the attention of pay per head agents.

MLB Games: Saturday, April 21

Toronto Blue Jays at NY Yankees

The Blue Jays list Marcus Stroman as their starter. The Yankees’ starting pitcher is listed as Jordan Montgomery. Stroman has a 7.98 ERA. The Yankees only bat .218 versus Stroman, though.

Montgomery has a 4.70 ERA. Toronto bats .200 versus Montgomery. However, the low batting average is from only 20 at-bats.

There’s no telling how well the Blue Jays really bat versus Jordan Montgomery.

Bookies are looking to see where the money goes in this match up. There’s a good chance Stroman and the Blue Jays are the dogs. If they are, expect most pay per head agents to set max betting limits.

MLB sharps could go with Toronto based on how well Stroman has pitched against the Yankees in the past.

Chicago Cubs at Colorado Rockies

Cubs’ pitcher Yu Darvish, Saturday’s listed starter, has a 6.00 ERA. He’s had trouble with his consistency. Darvish and the Cubs could be slight favorites over Colorado.

Even though this is a road game because Rockies listed starter Tyler Anderson has a 4.74 ERA and allows the Cubs to bat .429 against him. That’s from only 14 at-bats, though.

What it means is that agents won’t take sides. They’ll probably set max betting limits on both the Cubs and Rockies and hope that they get close to even money on both sides of the money line.

MLB Games Sunday, April 22

Washington Nationals at L.A. Dodgers

Nats versus Dodgers on Sunday night is ESPN’s nationally televised MLB game. That means most online bookie agents are going to promote this battle all weekend.

When it comes to the actual game, the Dodgers, with the rejuvenated Hyun-Jin Ryu on the mound, should be huge favorites.

Bookies won’t care so much if bettors back the Dodgers at around -200 or so odds. What they will care about are wagers on Washington and their listed starter, Jeremy Hellickson.

Hellickson’s ERA is only 3.86. Most pitchers find success at Dodger Stadium.

Max betting limits will be on the Nationals on April 22. Why? The reason why is because Hellickson and Washington have a legit shot of upsetting the L.A. Dodgers.
