Ghana W. Cup Odds
Ghana didn’t get the luck of the draw heading into the 2010 World Cup, making this country’s efforts to pull off a major upset that much harder.
Ghana World Cup History:
Number of Previous World Cup Appearances: 1
Last Appearance: 2006
Best Finish: Round of 16 (2006)
All-Time World Cup Record: 2-2-0
Odds:
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com, Ghana has been given 100/1 odds to win the World Cup. Spain is the favorite coming in with odds of 4/1.
2010 World Cup Qualifying:
Ghana qualified through CAF Third Round group. It went 4-1-1 to win the four-team group. Ghana was joined in the group by Benin, Mali, and Sudan. Ghana scored nine goals in the six games and allowed just three. The lone loss came against Benin, by a 1-0 score.
Betting Analysis:
Ghana is part of the very tough Group D which features Germany, Serbia, and Australia. Based on odds, Ghana is the third best team in the group, falling behind Germany and Serbia. This makes it tough to see Ghana reaching the round of 16, let alone winning the whole tournament. Leading into the World Cup, Ghana has won four of its last five, but the lone loss was a 4-1 game against Holland. That game shows that Ghana is not ready to compete at the elite level and we would advise staying away from them when placing your bets.
