Who drew the No. 1 post position for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby? Here’s a list of the post positions drawn on Wednesday.
The Post Positions
Lookin At Lee drew the No. 1 post position for Saturday’s triple crown race at Churchill Downs. Thunder Snow will start immediately to Lookin At Lee’s right, followed by Fast and Accurate in the No. 3 post. Untrapped will start in the No. 4 post position, followed by Always Dreaming at No. 5.

The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Classic Empire is the current favorite at 4/1 to win Saturday’s Kentucky Derby. Always Dreaming is 17/4, McCraken is 5/1, and Irish War Cry is 6/1. Girvin, meanwhile, is 15/1, as are Gormley, Gunnevera and Hence, respectively.
Continuing with the current odds, Irap, Lookin At Lee, Practical Joke, Tapwrit, and Thunder Snow are all 20/1, respectively. Patch is 25/1, followed by Battle of Midway and Untrapped at 30/1, respectively, and State of Honor at 35/1. The two contenders with the longest odds to win this weekend are Fast and Accurate at 50/1 and Sonneteer at 50/1.
The Start Time
The 2017 Kentucky Derby will be the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby and is set for Saturday, May 6, 2017 from Churchill Downs. NBC’s coverage of the Derby will start at 2:30PM ET with the post time set for 6:34PM ET. Harry Connick Jr. will sing the National Anthem.
