CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) – With the Kentucky Derby set to kick off in an hour, here’s a look at some head-to-head matchup prop odds for specific contenders.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, American Pharoah is 10/21 to finish ahead of Carpe Diem, who is 17/10 to win this head-to-head matchup. Dortmund, meanwhile, is a 5/9 favorite to finish ahead of Carpe Diem, who is 3/2 to finish ahead of Dortmund.
Frosted, meanwhile, is 20/23 to finish ahead of Firing Line in tonight’s Kentucky Derby, while Firing Line has the same 20/23 odds to finish ahead of Frosted. Mubtaahij is also a 6/5 favorite to finish ahead of Materiality, who is 2/3 to finish ahead of Mubtaahij.
Two other head-to-head matchups to consider: Carpe Diem is 20/31 to finish ahead of Materiality (who is 5/4 to finish ahead of Carpe Diem), while Far Right is 20/27 to place ahead of War Story, who is 21/20 to finish ahead of Far Right.
